The Arqus European University Alliance, Leipzig University (Germany) and The Institute of Foreign Languages Faculty of Philology, Vilnius University (Lithuania) invites you to the 8th International scientific conference “Linguistic, Educational, and Intercultural Research 2021”, October 21-22, 2021. The conference will be held online.

CONFERENCE THEMES

  • Linguistic Research: Cognitive Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Pragmatics, Corpus Linguistics, Lexicology, Meta-lexicography, Discourse studies/ Language in the Media, Public and other Types of Discourse
  • Language Teaching and Learning: Language Acquisition, Language Testing and Assessment, Language Teacher Education, Language Teaching Methodology
  • Innovation in Language Teaching and Learning: Online Language Teaching and Testing, Language Curriculum Development and Syllabus Design
  • Language Policy: Multilingualism, Languages and Rights, Minority and Regional Languages
  • Intercultural Education and Research
  • Literary Research

CONFERENCE LANGUAGES

  • The main language of the conference is English.
  • Panels, the interactive language café sessions are welcome in English, French*, German*,
    Italian*, Lithuanian*, Norwegian*, Russian, Spanish.

* We particularly encourage our colleagues from the Arqus European University Alliance to
moderate and participate in the panel sessions and interactive language café in their local languages.

  • Plenary presentations (45 minutes)
  • Presentations (20 minutes + 10 minutes for discussion)
  • Panel sessions
  • Interactive language cafés (separate rooms for each language) — rooms with moderators for participants to discuss issues related to language, the presentations, and to socialize in an informal setting. Grab a coffee and immerse yourself in a virtual multi-lingual space.
  • Workshops (45 minutes)

REGISTRATION FEES

  • EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION FEE €90
  • LATE REGISTRATION FEES €130

The participant’s registration fee covers

  • Conference programme and abstracts (electronic format). All abstracts must be submitted
    and presented in English.
  • Two options for publication of selected articles:
    1) In the peer-reviewed international multilingual academic journal ‘Verbum’ (registered in Scopus: https://www.journals.vu.lt/verbum). The journal accepts articles in English, French, Italian or Russian.
    2) In a separate volume (in English ) of research papers to be published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
  • Certificate of attendance.
  • Virtual excursions around Vilnius University and the Old Town of Vilnius.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Submission of abstracts (~ 250 words): by June 10, 2021.
  • Notification of accepted abstracts: by June 30, 2021.
  • Submission of articles: by July 30, 2021.

Notification of article acceptance by September 20, 2021

  • Publication of selected articles in the international multilingual academic journal “Verbum”. See Information for authors at: https://www.journals.vu.lt/verbum/about/submissions
  • Publication of selected articles in a separate volume of research papers to be published with Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
  • Early bird registration fees should be paid by June 30, 2021.
  • Regular registration fees should be paid by September 20, 2021.
