Quill – Quality in Language learning ( https://quill.pixel-online.org/) has reached its final stage. A „Digital Literacy as a Quality Guarantee in Language Learning“ forum will be held on February 2 in the Visitor Centre of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.
The Forum participants are language teachers of higher education institutions, language teachers of general education schools and educational policy makers.
The Institute of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University and Lithuanian Language Teachers’ Association continue the series of workshops and seminars for language teachers.
On March 26, 2018, teachers were invited to take part in two engaging seminars delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liudmila Arcimavičienė and lecturer Lina Marčiulionytė ( both work for the Institute of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology, Vilnius University).
On March 6, 2018 Prof. dr. Danutė Balšaitytė from the Institute of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology, Vilnius University conducted a seminar on “Media education: necessity and perspectives” for language educators. The seminar was organized by the Institute of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University and Lithuanian Language Teachers’ Association.
On February 2, 2018, an incredibly large group of language educators gathered to participate in two practical workshops organized by the Institute of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University and the Lithuanian Language Teachers’ Association on new and effective language teaching / learning methods.
The seminar “Use of Corpora in Teaching Foreign Languages” was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lina Bikelienė (Institute of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology, Vilnius University), who explained in a detailed way and demonstrated to the participants various possibilities of the use of corpora in foreign language teaching / learning process.
On 24 March, 2017 Language Teachers’ Association of Lithuania (LKPA) organized the traditional annual event “The Baltic Philologist Coffret” award ceremony to award the members of the association for the most prominent contribution and activities, for fostering and ensuring the continuity of the Baltic culture, promoting multilingualism and multiculturalism in the year of 2016.
Every year in March the Baltic Philologist Coffret is given to meritorious members of the association or organizations in accordance with certain pre-specified criteria. The Baltic philologist is a professional, ethical, and enterprising educator. The Baltic Philologist Coffret is attributed to an educator (or an organization) who is fostering and ensuring the continuity of the Baltic culture.
